Zambia Cashew Project gets a boost from ETG partner Mitsui & Co, Ltd.

Entering into the critical first phases of our Cashew program in Zambia,

EFF has received CSR funding from Mitsui & Co.Ltd to aid in improving our initial outreach to ensure the viability of the two year initiative. Mitsui’s donation will go towards technology enhancements to our sensitization campaign, through the provision of mobile projectors and screens and tablets allowing for faster and greater spread of our sensitization video to farmers across the 10 Western Provinces. Through our youth campaign Mitsui will be providing much needed computer lab technology to Barotsi Agricultural College supporting the next generation of cashew farmers. The equipment will be utilized to train the students in the cashew value chain and the new varieties and technologies from Tanzania and India.

Additionally, part of the donation will support the EFF team with pruning and spraying machinery that will be vital for the first year in showing the farmers how to revitalize their orchards and yields, improving their income and uptake in the program. EFF welcomes Mitsui’s philanthropy for our Cashew Infrastructure Development Program and looks forward to utilizing the support to maximize our outreach and impact allowing us to hit the ground running
